Falla

Introduction

The Falla Family comes from near the community of Hurdal in the county of Akershus, Norway.  In the late 1800’s, Donald Lindsay MacPherson emigrated to Canada.

History

In Norway, the lived on a farm called Fallhaugen near Hurdal — the farm was bought by Anders Andersen Fallhaugen in 1850 and it appears that they adopted the farm name as their last name at this time.  (Prior to this, it is likely they followed the patronymic or father-name name tradition — suggesting this Anders was the son of an Anders.)

In the 1880′s, the family emigrated to the United States.  In two groups etc.
