Cathedral Grove is located in MacMillan Provincial Park on Vancouver Island. The grove is noted for the accessibility to Douglas Fir trees — some 800 years old and up to 9 metres in circumference. A regime of very high contrast as, where the sun does shine through, it is brilliant compared to the rest of the park that is in deep shade. There are certainly good photos out there of the understory — photos that exhibit the intense and diverse greens. Also, I didn’t take one of them on this visit!
But, the sun also allows some flowering plants and I captured this image. Lots of bokeh in the background.
